Happy Holidays from Mediation Path Silicon Valley, LLC
As 2020 comes to an end, we at Mediation Path Silicon Valley LLC wish you a happy holiday.
The 2020 holidays are vastly different from any holidays in the past. We have all learned to adapt and do things differently: sheltering in place, wearing masks, practicing social distancing and the Holidays are no exception. With the current pandemic rules that prohibit large gatherings with friends and family, our holiday celebrations will be much smaller this year and, the family recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation might not be shared at the same dinner table. Yet throughout all that has happened in 2020, we are grateful for the things we do have and the friends and family that we can keep in touch with via video communications.
Just like everyone else, we at MPSV have also had to adapt to the “new normal” of 2020. Fortunately for us, we have conducted numerous on-line mediations in the past, way before the apparition of the COVID 19 pandemic. No need for us to subscribe to any services, learn how to use them, or prepare guidelines for online mediations. We already had all this up and running. As a result, we were able to offer the possibility to mediate cases to families who needed our help via audio conferencing since the first of the pandemic.
For those of you, who are still undecided on whether they should go to court or try to mediate all or some of their family disputes, with or without the assistance of a lawyer, bear in mind that alas the pandemic has led to substantial budget cuts in the judicial system. The Superior Court was required to furlough many employees, close courthouses, and reduce hours. As a consequence, the time it takes to file documents and obtain a hearing has increased drastically so that it now takes many months before a case can be assigned a trial date.
Therefore, if you are involved in a family dispute and would like to seek an alternative method of resolution, we encourage you to contact us. We have the knowledge and the tools to work within the restrictions imposed by the pandemic at no extra cost for you and your family via video conferencing.
Happy Holidays & Stay Safe.
